Child abuse
on South African farms
Jeremy Molokisa’s story
Sixteen
year-old Gavin Molokiswe’s story is symptomatic of more than 200 000
South African children currently in the work place.
Forced by economic circumstances, Jeremy sought work on the farm,
which employed his mother, in order to help with the support of his
family.
Often
forced to work more than the legal 8 hours each day, Jeremy’s minimal
wages, physical torture and sexual abuse by his employer, led to the
youth participation in the Global March Against Child Labor, along with
50 of his fellow child workers.
